war Botaniker und Sammler. Die aufgelisteten Irise stammen aus
Naturvorkommen. Die meisten davon gibt es in verschiedenen Varietäten. I.
Pumila kommt weit verbreitet auf dem Balkan, sowie Ostösterreich und
Slowakei vor. Die Farbvarietäten reichen über weiss, blau und gelb zu
dutzenden Farbkombinationen und Mustern. I. Germanica (Namensgeberin der
heutigen Hohen Bartiris) und Sambucina sind keine reine Arten sondern wohl
Naturhybriden. |

was a botanist and collector. The listed irises are from natural
resources. Most of them come in different varieties. I. pumila occurs
widely on the Balkans as well as eastern Austria and Slovakia. The color
varieties range to white, blue and yellow with dozens color combinations
and patterns. I. germanica (eponym of today's tall bearded iris) and
Sambucina are no pure types but probably natural hybrids. |
